Silvia Young is a Latina, California-based, change agent in female empowerment. Twenty-five years of gaslighting finally led her to an endometriosis diagnosis, and related infertility, C-PTSD, and disability.
What started as a health journey, uncovered truth in gender bias and discrimination, evolved into a series of published works, FemTruth™️, and launched a non-profit and coalition, FemTruth Youth, to reimagine curriculum and culture through artivism.
Silvia is also a seasoned menstrual equity organizer in California policy and has co-written five proposed policy recommendations. She is a past Commissioner of California’s Contra Costa County Commission for Women and Girls, and a current Board Member for the California Democratic Party of Contra Costa County, Rules Committee, Policies and Procedures.
